Talend raises $2.7 million with Galileo Partners
ÂTalend has successfully completed a first round of financing, raising $2.7 million with Galileo Partners, a venture capital fund created in 1989.Galileo Partners’ is far from being purely financial player: its astute and attentive approach aims to create experiential value for each and every opportunity. The company manages over $380 million of capital from large organizations and institutional investors around the world.
"Talend offers a completely new vision, from both a technological and business perspective. It has broken ranks with a market showing tremendous growth", commented Regis Saleur, Galileo Partners. "The open source model is especially well-suited to the market for data integration tools because it offers a technical guarantee that has been researched by the most expert users; its tools are adapted to the demands of large, international companies. We are totally convinced of the product’s validity, the business model and the quality of Talend’s team. For these reasons, we are very enthusiastic about the significant investment we have made in the company."The funds will be used to build the R&D team that is relentlessly working to finalize Version 1 and its technical documentation. It is also focused on advancing and implementing the development roadmap for future generations of Talend solutions. This key stage opens major prospects and has allowed us to meet our initial goals. The first was the launch of our website, which will go live in the next few days. Talend will also continue to structure its team dedicated to the open source version. We are bolstering our community of contributors and actively seeking individuals with Perl and/or Java experience.Over 20 high-level developers have already joined our structure and we will be hiring for new positions in the near future.
