Before we fill you in on all the latest happenings at Talend, we want to thank you for your interest and support for the company and our products!  Even before the release of v2.0, a major new release, over 60,000 users worldwide had downloaded Talend Open Studio.  We are also seeing tremendous activity in our community.  So if you are not already a member of our forums, sign up now!
 

Official launch of Talend Open Studio v2.0

Thanks to permanent interaction with Talend Open Studio's users, Talend was able to understand clearly the needs of organizations with regard to data integration.  The most robust, powerful and advanced solution on the market, Talend Open Studio optimizes data integration for all applications in the information system.  This new version leverages Java, introduces support for the ELT architecture, and becomes the most connectable solution on the market.

Major new features of Talend Open Studio v2.0 include:

  • Java Language Generation, leveraging the high performance and wide adoption of the Java language.

  • ELT Support offers organizations the ability to address a wide array of data integration projects and use cases by providing customers with the option to perform traditional Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) functions as well as Extract, Load and Transform (ELT) functions that leverage database engines to execute high-volume data transformations.

  • New native connectors to solutions that include leading ERP and CRM, all commercial and open source databases, files of all formats, Web Services, etc. This wide array of connectors, unmatched by any proprietary integration solution, is the key to the successful interoperability of applications and databases; it allows bridging diverse data structures at performance rates that surpass that of competitive, high-cost solutions.

Talend starts US operations

With more and more users in North America, Talend Open Studio is quickly becoming the most popular data integration solution!  In order to get closer to its users, Talend has opened its U.S. headquarters in Palo Alto, Calif., in the heart of the Silicon Valley, and has appointed Vincent Pineau, general manager, U.S. Vincent is a business intelligence and data management industry veteran, having held executive positions with MicroStrategy, a global leader in business intelligence, as well as Open Solution where he oversaw QA and ran strategic training.

Vincent is managing the development of Talend's business in North America and oversees the partners network implementation.

Key new executives join Talend

To fuel corporate growth, Talend has made executive management team additions:

Yves de Montcheuil joined Talend as Vice President of Worldwide Marketing. Having held marketing positions at a number of fast-growing companies including Sunopsis (recently acquired by Oracle), Empirix and Cyrano, Yves will leverage his years of data integration market expertise to build strategic programs that highlight the continued success of Talend Open Studio in customer and partner deployments.


 

Talend has added François Méro, General Manager, EMEA to head business development and sales operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. François  brings more than 15 years of experience in software sales and operations for European-based companies.  He is helping spearhead EMEA business development, sales and customer support efforts through strategic OEMs, resellers and direct customer relationships.

Shows, events & conferences

Talend is a Gold Sponsor of the MySQL Conference & Exposition 2007, April 24 to 26 in Santa Clara, Calif. This event gathers each year over 2,000 MySQL users, developers and administrators.  Fabrice Bonan, Talend's co-Founder & COO, will deliver a presentation entitled: "Leveraging Open Source for Operational Data Integration".

Talend will also participate to the
JavaOne Conference, May 8 to 11, at San Francisco's Moscone Center.  Created in 1996, this annual event attracted 15,000 participants in 2006.  This year's sessions will be centered around Open Source, Web 2.0, emerging technologies and Java.  Talend would be pleased to welcome you on their booth #1306 in the JavaOne Pavilion.
