Data Privacy Notice / Talend Early Access Program
You have been selected to participate to Talend Early Access Program (the “EAP”), to view and experience the new features of your subscription software, ahead of the official launch.
In the course of the EAP, we will collect certain personal data about you. The purpose of this notice is to inform you about the personal information we collect and what we will do with it. This notice must be read jointly with our Contacts Privacy Notice which we encourage you to consult for further information about Talend’s processing of your data.
This processing activity is carried out by Talend, Inc., located at 800 Bridge Parkway, Redwood City California, 94065, United States and its group of companies (“we” or “Talend”), who will be the controller of your personal data. Personal Data Collected
In the course of the EAP, Talend will collect the following personal information:
- Upon your registration to the EAP: first name, last name, business email address, company name, phone number, country and region of location, whether you are an on-premise or a cloud user.
- In our ongoing communication with you relating to the EAP: your feedback on the product, your comments, ideas, and responses to users’ survey or interviews regarding your experience using the software, and other information that you may provide in connection with your use of the software.
If you are using the software as a cloud customer, we will also collect automatically personal information relating to your use of the product and the performance of the software, including the amount of time you spend online, features used, jobs performed, whether you encountered bugs or issues while using the product (“product usage data”). By agreeing to participate in the EAP, you acknowledge that Talend will collect certain product usage data and provide your consent for us to do so.
Purpose of the Processing and Talend Use of Your Personal Data
The purpose of the EAP is to observe how users behave when using the software and identify any weaknesses or usage difficulties based on participants’ usage experience. We use this information to make improvements to the software ahead of the official launch and to improve customer engagement. To reach these objectives, we will process your data the following ways,
Access to the EAP software and documentation: Talend will process the personal information provided in the EAP registration form to send you an email invitation to access and/or download the software, the appropriate documentation to help you implement the software, as well as information on how to get support. You will receive a notice once the software is available for use, and a final list of the new features in the software. We will also notify you each time a new feature or product becomes available in the production environment.
Internal EAP reporting: product usage data will be recorded and analyzed to build weekly status reports, these reports will also include the feedback you provided, and the bugs reported. We will also process your personal information to send you requests for feedback, and requests to complete user surveys about your usage experience.
You are free to terminate your participation in the EAP at any time: the EAP is a continuous program, which gives you the opportunity to test our new features and products as soon as they become available in the production environment. Information about your use of the software, including product usage data, may be retained where we have an ongoing legitimate business need for doing so. Once we no longer have a legitimate business need to retain product usage data, we will either delete or anonymize it.
Legal Basis for Processing Personal Information
If you are resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), we will process your personal information for our legitimate business interests in the context of improving our products and services and better understanding our customers for improved customer engagement. We rely on your consent to collect the product usage data relating to your use of the software.
Who We Share Your Personal Information With
In the course of the EAP, we may use third-party service providers to assist us in the processing of your information, including:
- Pendo,
- Salesforce,
- Marketo,
- SharePoint, and
- SurveyGizmo
